'Get out of your car mate! It's on fire!':Kombi Van on fire
02.02.2023A dashcam has captured the moment a blue and white Kombi van caught fire on a busy Canberra road.
Photographer was driving on a Canberra intersection at 8am on Tuesday morning when he heard a loud noise.
When Mr Pearson peered to the left he was shocked to see the undercarriage of a blue and white Volkswagen on fire.
‘I was really worried when I saw the fire, I looked in my review mirror and started to reverse,’ Mr Pearson told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I was afraid it was going to explode so I yelled out «Get out of your car mate! It’s on fire!» and I saw a man get out of the car,’ he said.
Mr Pearson was surprised to see a calm gentlemen exit his car.
The gentleman who was wearing sunglasses, a buttoned shirt and black pants, seemed unconcerned by the sound of the explosion and the flames that emerged from beneath the vehicle.

After seeing cars backed up behind him, Mr Pearson said he had no choice but to keep driving and didn’t see what happened next.
According to witnesses, the kombi Servisi driver then got back into the van and drove around the corner as he waited from the fire brigade and tow-truck service.

‘I was walking to work, at around 9am on Tuesday morning where I saw a police car and fire truck blocking and diverting access to National Circuit because a burn out VW van,’ Mr Goodyer told Daily Mail Australia.
‘By the time I arrived, the fire in the van was extinguished and an officer was underneath the van, Kombi Servisi maybe to see how the fires started.
‘The entire back end of the van was burnt out,’ said Ms Goodyer.
‘I was walking to work, at around 9am on Tuesday morning where I saw a police car and fire truck blocking and diverting access to National Circuit because a burn out VW van,’ Mr Goodyer told Daily Mail Australia
