16.01.2023The South Korean capital is now home to some of the most attractive nightlife alternatives in south east Asia in terms of pubs, bars and nightclubs, while Seoul hotels now rival just about anywhere else in the region for quality and choice. So if you have spent the day on foot traipsing around the Deoksu Palace, seeing the sights and wonders of the Changgveong Palace or taking in some of the works of art on show in a museum, you're going to need a bar or pub to unwind in and discuss matters. Some of the most popular places to take a load off in Seoul include the below bars and pubs.
- Scrooge Pub.
For those visitors to the South Korean capital who like to enjoy a beer in a friendly environment, this is the ideal sort of place. Scrooge is a wide open bar which offers the drinker a happy balance of western pub feel with Korean hospitality and service. The pub boasts all the home comforts of a pub back home including even a dartboard and a pool table, 밤의민족 and the bar boasts imported western beers alongside local Korean brews.
The food on offer is outstanding and decent value too.
- Helios Pub. Helios is a marriage of pub and bar really, where plenty of people stand at the bar having a drink and a chat or sit at a table with a few snacks and some beers, while others make use of the small dance floor to enjoy a bit of a boogie.
There is a wide variety of music played in this bar but the volume of it is not intrusive. Gents should be sure to pop along to Helios on a Thursday when it is ladies night and the place is packed.
- Wolfhound Irish Pub. It's probably fair to say that every major city in the world nowadays boasts and Irish pub or three, but some are better than others.
Irish pubs overseas tend to adopt something of their local surroundings and the Wolfhound is no exception. South Korean locals enjoy sipping a pint of Guinness as much as anyone else does, and this pub offers one of the best welcomes in the city. It's also conveniently located meaning it's but a short walk from your Seoul hotel.
The Wolfhound is a fantastic place to watch live football on its big screens and the place boasts a great atmosphere on match nights.
Groove Bar. This place is a little livelier than the Wolfhound, being as it is home to a dance floor which gets more crowded the longer the evening goes on. It's still a great place to go for an evening beer or cocktail however and the music isn't so loud as to be intrusive.Groove Bar also offers some of the best night time views of the spectacular Seoul skyline.
