Coleen then said: ‘It’s a bit loud isn’t it? Today?’

Ruth quipped back: ‘Well it’s not for us, but if I’d had five rum and cokes last night, I might be feeling a bit fragile too.’

Coleen then admitted: ‘I apologise, I have got a hangover’.While in typical quick-witted style Janet Street-Porter chimed in: ‘No stamina!’

Appearing to have no regrets following her night out, Coleen said: ‘It was well worth it’, while giving the audience a smug smile.

While Janet noted that although Coleen had ‘started off perky she had now slumped.’

Ruth reassured Coleen she ‘only had an hour’ to get through her hangover before she could ‘crawl away’ from the studio.

One viewer tuning in at home took to social media to brand Coleen’s move ‘iconic’, as she wrote: ‘Coleen being hungover on Loose Women today is iconic.’

She was joined by fellow panellists , and as they discussed pettiness during a breakup after Shakira recently released a song that appeared to be about her ex Gerard Pique.

Coleen told the panel: ‘The best form of revenge is to be happy’ before she launched into a story of befriending her ex’s new girlfriend.

She said: ‘I always think, for me, even when sometimes you’re not happy and you’re crying inside and then they see you again, say hi.

‘Their ego can’t stand you getting over them, so you’re feeding their ego more if you keep going on at them.I’ve always been one to appear happy.’

Coleen said she had once taken revenge on an ex for his behaviour but ended up regretting it the next day.

Ruth Langsford held up her hands and said: 'Oh it's very nice of you to applaud, but could we just [makes a gesture to quieten down], as Coleen is feeling a little fragile'

Honest: Coleen most recently caused a stir on the show when she left her co-hosts gobsmacked over how she took revenge on an ex-boyfriend who cheated on her

The singer told how one of her former flames cheated on her and she then decided to befriend the woman he left her for.

She explained: ‘We talked and it was fine. But she kept saying this thing every time we met, which was ‘He’ll never do it to me’.

‘In the end, I thought, what are you saying here? Like I deserved it? You’re saying you’re better than me almost.’

Unimpressed with the woman’s words, Coleen told how she then invited her ex-boyfriend around to her place for ‘a little chat’ and added: ‘I slept with him’.

The admission left Coleen’s panellists with their mouths open before she added: ‘It gets worse.Because the next day I went round and I went ‘He did’.’

She said: ‘I felt that was unfair. But I felt like she was taking the mick out of me. So I thought, ‘don’t tell me he won’t do it again, because he will’, so I got him to and he did and I told her.

‘Just don’t annoy me with it.You’re seeing my ex but don’t rub my face in it girl.’

Christine Lampard laughed and said: ‘Didn’t take you too long to go around to tell them, did it?’

Coleen replied: ‘No, I literally went round the next morning.’

Loose Women airs Monday to Friday at 12:30pm on ITV.
