Vicar targeted by 'Satanists' warns of 'sinister' acts after cat hung
23.04.2023The vicar of a church targeted by ‘Satanists’ who ‘stabbed sheep and sprayed them with pentagrams’ in 2019 has warned of ‘sinister’ conduct after the bodies of more animals were left in plain sight.
Reverend David Bacon, of St Peter’s Church in Bramshaw, Hampshire, raised the prospect of ‘witchcraft’ after a cat was found by congregation members hanging ‘horribly’ from a flagpole.
This followed the discovery of a dead fox on the doorstep of the 12th century church a few weeks ago.
Reverend Bacon said the group of ladies who found the cat when they came to clean and prepare the church for were left ‘unsettled’.
In 2019 the suspected ‘Satanists’ stabbed sheep and sprayed them with pentagrams — graffitiing Reverend Bacon’s rural church with the same occult markings
Reverend Bacon said he is unsure who is behind the ‘sinister’ conduct, suggesting it could be people ‘just angry at the world’ or people concerned with witchcraft
The same New Forest village was terrorised three years ago by suspected Satanists who stabbed sheep and sprayed them with pentagrams, graffitiing Reverend Bacon’s 12th century church with the same occult markings.
The vicar said he is unsure who is behind the acts, suggesting it could be people ‘just angry at the world’ or people concerned with witchcraft.
‘The cat — rather horribly — was found hanging from the flagpole. The fox was left on the doorstep, but it’s very unlikely it died there naturally,’ he said.
Reverend Bacon, of St Peter’s Church in Bramshaw, pictured, said the group of women who found the cat hanging from a flagpole when they came to clean the church were left ‘unsettled’
‘The cat was found by a group of ladies on Monday. They were coming in to clean the church for Christmas but found it on the flagpole. It was really upsetting for them.
‘Every so often we get things like this happening. It makes everybody feel very uncomfortable.’
Reverend Bacon said he is not entirely sure whether the killings are linked to the sheep stabbings from a few years ago.
‘We have no idea what motivated this. Are they just angry at life in general, or against the church, or is it linked to witchcraft? I can’t say,’ he said.
The vicar said he is not entirely sure whether the recent animal killings are connected to the sheep stabbings in 2019
The vicar said: ‘It’s really unsettling and sinister for everyone. We’re not sure what will happen next, if anything’
‘But the sheep killings were much more sophisticated. The dead fox felt a lot less organised.
‘It’s really unsettling and sinister for everyone. We’re not sure what will happen next, if anything.’
He added: ‘I have no idea why it is happening in our area. If it is connected to witchcraft, then the New Forest has been linked to witchcraft for hundreds of years.
‘But it could just be random acts of nastiness. It’s all pretty horrible for those who find the dead animals.’
